What does Mickleton Parish Council do?
Mickleton Parish Council aims to improve the quality of life for residents in the parish by:
· managing the junior playing field, multi-use games area and memorial garden
· being responsible for three village defibrillators
· commenting on local planning applications
· maintaining some of the grassed areas in the village
· being responsible for the closed churchyard at St Lawrence’s Church
· acting as the burial authority for Mickleton Cemetery
· supporting the gardeners who look after the village planters
· co-ordinating equipment for the litter pickers
It also carries out fundraising, awards grants and applies for relevant funding. It organises the annual parish meeting and Christmas carol service, and has recently been involved in arranging events to celebrate the king’s coronation.
Join us!
As a councillor you will be responsible for making decisions for your community at monthly council meetings and ensuring that the services the council is responsible for are carried out. You will talk to residents, local groups and businesses about their needs and concerns. Sometimes these concerns are the responsibility of Cotswold District Council or Gloucestershire County Council, but Mickleton Parish Council works closely with both to ensure that issues are dealt with.
