Winter boost for Mickleton’s planters
Thanks go to volunteers from Mickleton Gardening Club who carried out the new planting around the village, so that we will have some winter colour to enjoy.
Mickleton Parish Council aims to deliver and coordinate services to meet the needs of the local community and improve the quality of life in the parish.
Mickleton Parish Council contributes to local maintenance, maintains a watching brief on local roads, public rights of way and trees in public places, responds to planning consultations, supports local charities and endeavours to respond to matters raised by parishioners. All parish councillors work on a voluntary basis.
Mickleton Parish Council is first-tier statutory local government. It provides the parish with a democratic voice on how the area should develop for the future and a structure for taking community action. It doesn’t run public services, but it tries to influence decision-makers, working in partnership with both Cotswolds District Council and Gloucestershire County Council.
The parish council is responsible for managing its own budget which is financed through the annual Precept (its share of the Council Tax).
