Family Fun Day and Village Fete a BIG Success
More than 400 visitors had a super fun time in perfect weather at the Senior Playing Field last Sunday as the Parish Council delivered the annual Family Sports Day, and Mickleton Sports Clubs put on a Village Fete.
The Parish Council laid on a bouncy castle and an inflatable slide, traditional fun races for kids, and a Tug-of-War. The Fete provided a variety of stalls offering everything from jewellery to healthy pet food. For those who didn’t picnic David Moore kept everyone fed with a scrumptious BBQ, and the bar, cakes and ice cream stations were in high demand all afternoon, as was the Hedgehog Bus that ran a shuttle service to/from various stops in the Village.
Happily, our resident First Aider Stuart was not called upon to demonstrate his skills, but he educated and entertained many with CPR practice dummies.
As usual, the highlight of the day was the dog show with dozens of our furry friends competing in 9 categories including Best Rescue, Best Veteran, Best Party Trick, and Waggiest Tail.
Last action of the day was drawing of the Sports Club raffle.
Congratulations to all winners, whether on 2 legs or 4, and a huge thankyou to everyone for supporting the day.
