A highlight was designing the structural concrete frame for the Royal Hotel in Nottingham. The second half of his career was spent in the water industry with Severn Trent, designing and project managing water schemes for both clean and wastewater.  During that time Graham helped build the computer models for developing different water schemes.

Local interests:

  • Co-organiser of the coffee morning in King George’s Hall.
  • Organiser of Cotswolds Friends Lunch Club.
  • During the 1st lockdown Graham was a Mickleton Helper making deliveries throughout the village every week.

Hobbies: Caravanning and travelling around the UK, his favourite place being Northumberland where he loves the quiet and the stunning Heritage coastline. When possible, he meets up with other caravanning friends. Graham has a special edition Morgan and loves stripping and re-building cars, although this car only requires minor work.

Family: Graham is one of 4 brothers, single but always accompanied by his much-loved rescue Rough Collie, Rhys. Graham has always had rescue dogs in his life – Rhys is his 3rd rescue Rough Collie. He has lived in the village since 2010 and finds our friendly, rural village reminds him of his time as a boy in Derbyshire.

Reason for joining the parish council: Graham’s parents were always involved in local voluntary work, and he has adopted their family principles of always trying to ‘Give back to the community’. He has always done voluntary work and has been on the Parish Council since he retired.

Interesting fact: Graham was a leader of the Scout movement for over 30 years. He was involved with 1st Stratford Scout Group including the Venture Scouts and time as the Assistant District Commissioner. In this period of his life he was a serious walker doing competitive 50 mile hikes, and enjoyed mountain biking, canoeing and windsurfing
